DentaQuest, a major administrator of dental benefits, disclosed a network breach that exposed personal and health information belonging to 2.6 million individuals. The incident came to light after the threat actor group ShinyHunters listed the stolen data on a leak site in May, prompting the company to confirm unauthorized access to more than 234 GB of information.
Public reporting indicates the compromised records included full names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, genders, government IDs, and health insurance details. Have I Been Pwned added the breach to its database, verifying the scale at approximately 2.6 million accounts. DentaQuest stated that the intrusion caused limited operational disruption, and the company has since worked to contain the incident and notify affected parties as required by law.
