Hackers gained access by using compromised credentials, obtaining names and Social Security numbers belonging to students, faculty, staff, and former affiliates.
Public reporting from SecurityWeek and notifications filed with state attorneys general confirm the breach affected roughly 174,000 individuals. The college stated that attackers used stolen login details to reach stored personal information. At the time of disclosure, officials said they had found no evidence that the data was exfiltrated or misused, though investigations remain ongoing. The college is providing credit monitoring services to those impacted.
