Oxford University has disclosed a data breach affecting its CareerConnect careers platform, exposing the names, email addresses, and encrypted passwords of users who logged in without single sign-on.
The breach occurred on May 28 and was carried out against a third-party system operated by Group GTI. According to the university’s notification, attackers gained access to first and last names, email addresses, and encrypted passwords belonging to non-SSO accounts. Public reporting indicates that no student data, financial information, or core university systems were impacted.
